GUEST- AND HOLIDAY DIALYSIS
Switzerland is a popular place for people to relax and take their holidays. With the diversity of its cities and countryside, it has something for everyone: a unique mountain experience with dozens of sports and leisure activities for some; a huge range of cultural activities, entertainment and shopping for others.
Dialysis patients do not have to forgo travel or holidays. All of the clinics in the Hirslanden group of private hospitals which operate a dialysis centre are happy to receive guest patients for dialysis during the holidays.
All of our dialysis centres feature state-of-the-art equipment. You will be cared for by an experienced team of nursing staff, and a doctor is on call at all times. We also consider it important to provide you with pleasant surroundings.
Additional examinations, including blood tests, X-ray, ECG, and so on, are available at all times.
However, it is worth while taking some time to plan your trip. You should get in touch with the dialysis centres in advance in order to book dialysis stations and have any questions you may have answered.
You should ask your health insurer how much of the cost of your dialysis treatment abroad is covered; in some cases, you will only be refunded the amount that you pay for dialysis at your normal place of residence. EU citizens can settle their bill directly using the EU insurance card in all Hirslanden clinics
It is essential that you bring the following documents with you for your guest dialysis:
- Most recent dialysis protocol
- Diagnosis report
- Current medication c/w dosage information
- Current test results
- Test documentation for Hepatitis B + C and HIV
