Parents-to-be make extensive preparations for the upcoming birth as this brings them a sense of safety and peace of mind. We are here to help you in this regard. We have put a programme together for you which will be of further help to you.
Your pregnancy is important to us
On a regular base our Information evening for parents-to-be are held. These events are held in German. An expert team consisting of midwives, nurses, mother consultation as well as a breastfeeding counsellor will provide you with in-depth answers to all your questions and show you round the maternity unit and maternity ward.
As an English speaking patient, you can familiarise yourself with the birth unit and our midwifes. We will be happy to show you the birth rooms and the maternity unit as well as answer any questions you should have. You are welcome to visit at any time, we would just ask you to tell the midwife beforehand (T +41 41 784 03 40).
Your concerns and questions will be addressed, along with possible types of birth in a personal midwife discussion. The maternity ward has an excellent infrastructure with high standards. You will get to know the birthing rooms, the maternity ward and our philosophy in an individual tour. On this occasion, you can make initial contact with our multilingual midwives.
Our antenatal classes are designed to support you through the remaining weeks of your pregnancy, ease your fears and insecurities and optimally prepare you for the coming birth. With a careful, easily intelligible introduction to all important topics, we would like to make this emotional, unique experience a positive one for you.
You will receive an information form of the Civil office Cham for the certification of your baby's birth along with the admission documentation. Please make sure that you have the required documentation with you when you are admitted. The website of the Cham registry office (Zivilstandesamt Cham) offers you in-depth information about the required documents and regulations so that the birth can be correctly certified.
Please note that most of the courses and treatments we offer are held in german and can therefore be found on the german version of the website.
For further information about the courses and events or in case you are interessted in a tour held in english, please contact the secretariat of the Maternity Ward on +41 41 784 03 40.
