Back on solid footing

The foot and ankle together support the body and are critical for walking. Any illnesses and functional changes affecting this part of the body are often very painful. Orthopaedic operations at the Clinique des Grangettes are often performed on women. Some examples are: hallux valgus or bunions (lateral deviation of the large toe), hammer toes or mallet toes (large extension of the proximal joint and excessive flexion of the distal joint), metatarsalgia (pain in the front of the foot), hallux rigidus (painful blocking at the rear joint of the big toe due to arthrosis), and flat feet.   Surgery on the foot and the ankle has made a great deal of progress of late. It allows for complex corrections and can restore anatomical integrity and smooth functioning.
