Paediatric Cardiology

The specialists at the paediatric cardiology unit are in charge of diagnosing and treating heart conditions in children. They work by way of specialised examinations and using a comprehensive technological platform.

Diagnostic tools adapted to children

The aim of the paediatric cardiology unit is to determine a possible anomaly in the structure and function of a child’s heart, or to exclude any such anomalies. The unit accepts children from birth to adolescence who have been referred by their paediatrician. The reason for such an examination is an auscultation deemed abnormal, or the presence of any symptom that might suggest a modified heart function. The technological platform includes an electrocardiogram (at rest and under stress), as well as ultrasound, which can be used to exclude any cardiac anomalies in most cases.
