Hirslanden Clinique La Colline is the official medical partner of the Double You Team sailing team.
The sailing challenge
The Decision 35 (D35) is a multihull boat exclusively designed for competition. It boasts three hulls and an exceptional power-to-weight ratio enabling it to sail on Lake Geneva at speeds of up to 50 km/h (30 knots).
The original idea behind the Double You Team project, which is spearheaded by D35 expert and former Alinghi helmsman Christian Wahl, was to put together an impressive team ready to tackle national and international sailing circuits while sharing its passion with sailing enthusiasts and partners alike. The team takes part in well-known Lake Geneva competitions such as the Bol D'Or, as well as the D35 Trophy tournament - a very challenging regatta which sees only the top racing sailors compete. The Double You sailing team is made up of six members who take part in events all season long (March to September).
What does being a medical partner mean?
The Centre of Sports Medicine and Exercise (CMSE) will monitor the team members as they prepare themselves physically throughout the sailing season. CMSE specialists will support the team prepare for and participate in the regattas. Various medical specialists will also be on hand to treat team members at the hospital.
