The Vaccination Centre Heiden is situated very closely to the Heiden railway station and offers free vaccinations for anyone 12 years of age.

The Hirslanden Group operates the Vaccination Centre in Heiden on behalf of the Canton Appenzell Ausserrhoden. In the vaccination center Heiden (in the former hospital building Heiden resp. at the medical outpatient clinic Heiden MAiH) Corona vaccinations are offered for the general population from 12 years on. The two mRNA vaccines manufactured by Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech are used.


Currently, walk-ins (spontaneous vaccination without prior fixed appointment booking) are possible.

Appointments for vaccinations are possible after prior registration and booking an appointment here

The cantonal vaccination hotline is available here via phone: +41 71 353 67 97 and via e-mail, opening hours are from Monday to bis Friday 8.00am -12.00pm and 01:00pm - 05.00pm, closed on Saturday and Sunday. 

The Infoline is also a triage point for specific questions of the population to the cantonal administration. Further information is available on the Website of the canton Appenzell Ausserrhoden.

If you want your vaccination to be recorded in your vaccination certificate (“vaccination passport”) also bring this with you to the vaccination centre.

Covid certificate

The Vaccination Centre does not issue any Covid certificates. This is the responsibility of the canton. You can find further information about the issue of these certificates on the Department of Health’s website.


Arrival by car:

Parking is available in front of the location and in the surrounding area.

Arrival by public transport:

The vaccination center is a 9-minute walk from Heiden train station.

Is the vaccination centre wheelchair accessible and are there wheelchairs for people with disabilities in the vaccination centre?

Our vaccination centre is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available on site and the vaccination centre staff supports people with disabilities.
