The prostate plays various key roles in reproduction, the hormonal balance and urination. Men age 50 and older are recommended to undergo regular prostate examinations in order to detect any diseases as well as benign prostate enlargement or prostate cancer at an early stage.

- The prostate is a gland located in men's lower abdomen and is important for functioning sperm.
- The urethra, which transports urine from the bladder into the penis, flows through the prostate.
- Around the age of 30-35, the prostate begins to enlarge.
Regular screening examinations are recommended for men age 45-50.
