How can I receive treatment?

After you have contacted us, a specialist will assess your case to determine whether treatment is possible. If the assessment is positive, we will contact you to discuss the next steps.

Symptom-free in just a few days

Examinations on the first day

If you suffer from erectile dysfunction, you can come to Hirslanden Klinik Aarau for your initial examinations. Here you will first go to the Centre for Internal Medicine. After a clinical examination, you will undergo an electrocardiogram (ECG) at rest and while exercising. A sample of your blood will be taken and tested in the laboratory of Hirslanden Klinik Aarau. An ultrasound and a rectal examination will be carried out at the Urology Centre, after which you will go to the Mittelland Centre for Vascular Medicine in Aarau for duplex sonograms. Prof. Dr. med. Nicolas Diehm will assess all the test results and discuss the findings with you.

Examinations on the second day

On the second day, a CT (computed tomography) scan will be carried out at Radiology Baden. This cross-sectional imaging procedure developed from conventional radiography provides insights into possible organic dysfunctions. All the results will be analysed and discussed with the specialists. Prof. Dr. Nicolas Diehm will then recommend treatment options.

Procedure on the third day

If the erectile dysfunction is caused by vascular disease, Prof. Dr. med. Nicolas Diehm will carry out the angiological procedure. He will also visit you afterwards during his rounds to discuss the final report and to give you a file containing all the documents. You can leave the hospital on the same day.

Do you have any existing health problems?

You must inform the doctors of any pre-existing illnesses that you know about before the initial examination. The procedure cannot be carried out if you have prostate cancer or a higher risk of heart attack (e. g. because of angina pectoris) in particular.
