COVID-19 rapid test when entering the delivery room with symptoms

If you show symptoms when you enter the delivery room, we will carry out a COVID-19 rapid test to protect you, your baby and the staff. Regardless of the result, you will be cared for in the maternity ward and on the postpartum ward.

Birthing room

If your COVID-19 test result is positive, your partner will also be tested. If your partner's test result is negative, he or she can attend the birth. If the test result is positive, unfortunately the partner cannot be present at the birth and must go into quarantine at home.

In principle, the 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered, tested) applies to partners and accompanying persons. If the partner or accompanying person cannot produce a certificate, we will carry out a rapid test (valid for 48 hours from the time the sample is taken).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by telephone on +41 44 387 35 61.

Postpartum department

If you have a positive test result, you will not be able to receive visitors in the postpartum ward.

You are allowed a maximum of 2 visitors per day in the maternity ward (your partner counts as a visitor). Unfortunately, siblings under 12 years of age are currently not allowed to visit. Visiting times for the partner are not limited and depend on the insurance class. Depending on the insurance class, overnight stays with you are also possible. The second visit can be received for a maximum of one hour.

The 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered or tested) applies to each visit.

Your partner may visit you on the postpartum period and, depending on your insurance, also stay overnight with you; here too, the rule applies: Vaccinated, Tested,Convalescent.

Your health and that of your baby is very important to us. We thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone +41 44 387 33 83 or +41 44 387 35 61.

Overnight stay for fathers/partners on the postpartum bed

Fathers/partners are welcome at the postpartum and can stay overnight in the same room again. At the moment, overnight accommodation for the sibling is not possible.

Public events

Due to the current situation, certain events and courses will only take place online, with restrictions or not at all. More information can be found on the page of the respective event or course.

Individual tour

For an individual visit to our maternity ward, please contact our midwives about one hour before your desired visit on T 044 387 35 61 (also in the evenings and at weekends).
