Electrical therapy for cardiac insufficiency
Cardiac resynchronisation therapy CRT (also called biventricular stimulation)
In recent years, biventricular stimulation has proved very successful in patients with the combination of ischaemic or non-ischaemic cardiac in-sufficiency (NYHA III), left bundle branch block, left ventricular ejection fraction < 35%. Major international studies have demonstrated not only a significant symptomatic effect, but also a significant prognostic effect. Cardiac resynchronisation therapy is available in combination with a pacemaker or an ICD.
