The Centre for Musculoskeletal Radiology offers the latest in diagnostic imaging for orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists and sports doctors. Sub-specialist, qualified musculoskeletal radiologists provide radiological expertise.
The most advanced diagnostic capabilities
The Centre for Musculoskeletal Radiology offers imaging diagnostics and therapeutic procedures for diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. The centre is integrated into Klinik Hirslanden’s Institute of Radiology and has access to the latest equipment:
two 3.0 T MRI, two1.5 T MRI, an open low-field (0.35 T) MRI. A dual-source CT (including a dual energy CT for detection of gout), SPECT-CT, PET-CT, high-resolution ultrasound, direct digital imaging (including orthrograms, Telos recordings, complete spinal column images while standing) and a biplane fluoroscopy system.
Efficient, modern diagnostics for the musculoskeletal system change often due to continuous technological developments.
The centre benefits from these developments through its integration in well-known bodies for musculoskeletal radiology (Chief Editor Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, Consultant to the Editor Radiology, Editorial Board of Skeletal Radiology, Vice-President (President from June 2014) of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR), member of the International Skeletal Society (ISS)).
The main activities of the Centre for Musculoskeletal Radiology are listed under the heading Expertise.
The Centre for Musculoskeletal Radiology is the medical partner of FCZ.
