Frank Nehlig becomes new Head of Corporate Communication at Hirslanden Private Hospital Group

The Hirslanden Private Hospital Group has appointed Frank Nehlig as its new Head of Corporate Communication. He succeeds Dr Peter Werder, who became Director of the Hirslanden Klinik Belair in Schaffhausen at the beginning of the year.


Frank Nehlig (47, married with two sons) will assume the position of Head of Corporate Communication at Hirslanden Private Hospital Group in mid-June 2016. In his new role, which is based at the head office in Zurich, he will be responsible for external and internal communication, media and information activities, and corporate publishing. He will also provide media-related and communications support to all 16 hospitals in the Group.


Frank Nehlig has worked for the Bühler Group in Uzwil since 2008. In his most recent role as Head of Marketing Services, he has been responsible for marketing and communication in the area of value nutrition, which is the company's second-largest division. Previously, he held various management positions at the technology company based in Eastern Switzerland, with responsibility for media relations, corporate publishing, brand management and internal communication. In 2014, as Head of Corporate Communications, Frank Nehlig also played a major role in the company’s extensive reorganisation. Before working for Bühler, he was Communications Manager at the international Angst+Pfister Group and Managing Editor at euroscript Switzerland, a solutions provider in the area of content lifecycle management.


Frank Nehlig has a Masters in Linguistics and Literary Studies (German and English) from the University of Constance (Germany) and a Masters in Advanced Studies in Communication Management and Leadership from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).

The Hirslanden Private Hospital Group consists of 16 hospitals in 11 cantons, many of which have an outpatient surgery centre and emergency department. The Group also operates 4 outpatient clinics, 13 radiology institutes and 4 radiotherapy institutes. It has over 2,000 employed and affiliated doctors, and 8,450 staff members. As at 31 March 2015, over 94,037 patients were being treated as inpatients at the 16 hospitals with a total of almost 453,741 inpatient days. In insurance terms, the patient mix consists of 42.7% basic, 32.3% semi-private, and 25.0% private insured patients.
