Our department offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology of the highest professional standards. As an integral part of Hirslanden Stroke Centre, our department provides emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

Neuroradiology supplements the neighbouring disciplines of neurosurgery, neurology, psychiatry, orthopaedics and internal medicine with radiological investigative techniques and skills. Neuroradiology includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and changes in the nervous system.

Technical equipment

The state-of-the-art technical equipment includes two biplanar angiography units, four magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices (for claustrophobic patients) and a Dual Source CT. Research collaboration with manufacturers makes it possible to provide tomorrow’s technology today.

Team

For our team of four internationally recognised specialists in neuroradiology, it is clear that the best technical equipment is a prerequisite for proper diagnosis and therapy. A requirement of skilled care is that counselling, diagnosis and treatment are tailored to the individual patient (personalised medicine). The latest international treatment guidelines are regarded as guiding principles (evidence-based medicine). We also offer what’s known as ‘second-look’ counselling.

Patient information films

Providing information to our patients is very important to us, which is why we have developed information films on the following diseases: Stroke, intracranial aneurysm, vascular AV malformation and pulse-synchronous tinnitus
