Sun protection

Exposure to sunlight is especially harmful to infants, as their skin is not well protected against UV rays due to insufficient pigment. Just five to ten minutes are enough to get sunburn, which is not only painful but also increases the risk of skin cancer considerably.

Infants should be in the shade whenever possible. In any case, put on some children’s sun cream with high sun protection factor, and protect its head with a sun hat. It is best not to leave the house at all between 11 am and 3 pm if the sun is out.

While at the beach or in the mountains you should protect your child’s eyes with sunglasses that filter harmful rays and fit well.
