Your feelings of nervousness and excitement mount as this unique event – the birth of your child – approaches. Our well-coordinated team is prepared and at your service. You can relax while our expert personnel respond to your every need.
In our Maternity Ward we use the most up-to-date methods, which, in accordance with our holistic care approach, also encompass alternative techniques. These include acupuncture, homeopathy and aromatherapy. For several years, we have offered expectant mothers the choice of a water birth, and each of our Birth Rooms is equipped with a special bathtub.
Your doctor, in close consultation with the attending midwife, will assume overall responsibility for the birth. The midwife will monitor the course of the birth and will offer you individual assistance in every respect. In the case where unforeseen complications arise, we are of course fully equipped with the necessary medical infrastructure for both you and your baby.
In the case of a Caesarean section, our Anaesthetics team will monitor your heart function and circulation. In normal circumstances, a Caesarean section is performed under local anaesthetic. This enables you to experience the birth of your child in full consciousness.
After the birth, the attending paediatrician will examine your baby and determine any further care that may be required.
