The foetus now looks almost like a newborn baby. It is well proportioned and its eyes are usually open. Through the abdominal wall shines a warm reddish light.
Premature babies of the 27th week on have quite a good chance of survival; nevertheless, they would need intensive care for a good while.
From time to time most children still lay with the head up and the coccyx down; you can probably tell by the child’s movements where its feet are. In the next weeks this will slowly change: you will feel a strong pressure of the little head against your bladder and kicks against your ribs.
