29th week of pregnancy

  • Biparietal diameter of foetus: 72 to 83 mm
  • Weight of foetus: approx. 1250 g
  • Length of foetus: approx. 37 cm

The upper rim of the uterus, the fundus, now lies approx. 10 cm above the navel.

Your baby might now have a thick shock of hair that will fall out after birth. The lungs continue to mature and in case of premature birth it would now have a very good chance of survival. A healthy uterus, however, is still the best possible environment for the foetus; thus premature labour pains should be prevented if possible.
