Stoma and Continence Advice

Various diseases can cause problems which mean that bowel movements and urine can no longer be passed in the normal way. An operation can be performed to temporarily or permanently fit patients with an artificial anus or urinary outlet (known as a stoma).

Our advisory team informs and supports patients and their family before and after this kind of surgery. They will answer any stoma-related questions and explain how to manage your altered physiology (continence/incontinence).
