Visiting hours
Salem-Spital has the following visiting hours:

  • Normal ward: 10.00 am to 8.00 pm
  • Postnatal care ward: 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm

In the Intermediate Care (IMC) and Recovery Room, visits are severely restricted or only possible after consultation with the responsible caregiver due to the privacy of the patients and confined spaces.

Parking
There is parking available at the hospital (fees apply). There is also free but limited parking in the area.

Gifts
You can purchase gifts, vouchers, magazines and premium Hirslanden products for daily use in our lounge on the entrance floor.

Flowers and plants
Please note that no potted plants or flower arrangements are permitted in the ward for hygiene reasons. Cut flowers and potted plants (soil, floral foam/oasis, orchids) are also not allowed in the intermediate care unit (IMC) or the recovery room.

Catering
Guests are also welcome during lunchtime or in the evening. They can choose between different daily menus as well as a wide range of other cuisine and drinks. Please order food for visitors from Room Service the day before.

Accommodation
For reasons of space, an overnight stay in a foldaway bed is only possible in our single rooms. This requires private insurance or an upgrade for patients with semi-private or basic insurance. Family members of patients with private insurance or a corresponding upgrade can stay overnight in a single room free of charge (excluding breakfast).

Visitors’ toilets
There are designated toilets for visitors available outside the patient rooms.
