Working hours and salary

- 42 hours per week (doctors 50 hours) with an employment level of 100 %
Salary
- 13. monthly wage (paid semi-annually in June and December)
Inconvenience allowances
We pay you an allowance of CHF 9.- per hour for working at night and on Saturdays and Sundays.
Flexible employment contracts
Flex contract
Hirslanden employees with a part-time workload can enjoy flexible employment contracts. These flex contracts combine two advantages:
- the security of a permanent employment contract with the possibility of additional, flexible hourly-paid work assignments.
Part-time working arrangements
We encourage and facilitate part-time work wherever possible, including in management roles. Many of our teams are co-led.
Holidays and lenght-of-service gift
Holidays
- 25 days of holiday up to the age of 59 and 30 days of holiday per year from the age of 60
- Option to purchase additional holiday weeks through the "Leisure Plus" working time model
- Option to take unpaid leave
Length-of-service gift in form of additional paid holiday days per year
- 5. - 9. year of service: 2 days
- 10. - 14. year of service: 3 days
- From the 15th year of service: 4 days
«Leisure Plus» - up to 7 weeks' holiday
All employees enjoy 5 weeks' holiday. If you would like more days of holiday, the "Leisure Plus" working model gives you the opportunity to take up to 10 additional days of holiday for a small reduction in salary.
- Option 1: 2.2 % pay cut = 5 extra holiday days
- Option 2: 4.4 % pay cut = 10 extra holiday days
Compensation for changing time
- Employees who have to change completely for their work receive four additional paid days off for a 100% workload (except medical specialists and management physicians)
- If the workload is reduced, these days off are reduced accordingly
- Hourly-paid employees benefit from equivalent financial compensation
Maternity and paternity leave
- Paid maternity leave totalling 16 calendar weeks
- From 1st year of service, 80% continued payment of salary; from 2nd year of service, 100% continued payment of salary
- Paternity leave of 2 weeks with full continued payment of salary
- One-off birth allowance of CHF 200 per child (mothers and fathers)
