Flowers and plants
Please note that no potted plants or flower arrangements are permitted in the ward for hygiene reasons. Neither potted plants nor cut flowers may be brought to the ICU or to the monitoring station.
Gifts
You can purchase newspapers, vouchers and premium Hirslanden products for daily use in our cafeteria on the ground floor.
Car parking
There are covered parking spots available opposite the hospital in the Kursaal car park (fees apply). There is also free but limited parking in the area.
Accommodation
For reasons of space, an overnight stay in a foldaway bed is only possible in our single rooms. This requires private insurance or an upgrade for patients with semi-private or basic insurance. Relatives of patients with private insurance or patients with an upgrade can stay overnight free of charge (excluding breakfast).
Visiting hours
The following visiting hours apply at Klinik Beau-Site:
- Normal ward: 10.00 am – 8.00 pm
- Intensive care unit (ICU) and Intermediate care (IMC): 11.00 am – 1.00 pm and 4.00 pm - 8.00 pm, or by arrangement (for close relatives)
Please arrange your visit with the patient.
Catering
You are also welcome to visit over lunchtime or in the evening. You can choose between different daily menus as well as a wide range of other cuisine and drinks. Guest meals can be ordered from the nurses the day before.

As a visitor, you may also make use of our range of pastoral care services.

Visiting hours
- Normal wards: 10 am to 8 pm
- Maternity ward 2 pm to 8 pm
- Intensive care unit and intermediate care (IMC): 11 am to 1 pm; 4 pm to 8 pm or by appointment (closest relatives only)
Visits to the recovery room are severely restricted due to patient privacy and limited space, or only possible by arrangement with the responsible nurse.
Visitors’ toilets
Toilets are available outside patients’ rooms for visitors and are marked accordingly.
Flowers and plants
Please note that potted plants and flower arrangements are not allowed in the ward for hygienic reasons.
Potted plants (soil, oasis, orchids) or cut flowers must not be brought to the IMC or recovery room.
We are happy to store bouquets for you at reception.
Parking spaces
There is a limited number of barrier-free short-term parking spaces in front of each of the Bern Hirslanden hospitals for collection and drop-off (max. 15 minutes).
Please note that the availability of parking spaces for visitors is limited. We recommend that you use public transport.
If you would like to travel by car, car parks are available around the Hirslanden hospitals in Bern.
Free parking spaces are available in the surrounding area, but with a limited time of stay.
Overnight stays
For reasons of space, visitors can only use a folding bed to stay overnight if the patient is in a single room. This means that the patient must have private insurance or, for those with semi-private or general insurance, an upgrade. For relatives of privately insured patients or those in a single room with a corresponding upgrade, overnight stays (excluding breakfast) is free of charge.
Catering
We offer a variety of catering options in all Bern Hirslanden hospitals.
Private patients can ask for visitors to be served their meals in their room. For further information, please contact our hospitality service.
Please note that chargeable purchases will be invoiced to the patient as a private expense.
Pharmacy
Our in-house public pharmacy is located right by the main entrance of Salem-Spital. The products on offer at Salem pharmacy range from medicines and complementary medicine to cosmetics and gifts. Our team will be happy to advise you.
Smoking rules
The Bern Hirslanden hospitals are smoke-free. This also applies to all types of e-cigarettes, vapes and other tobacco products.
All hospitals have designated smoking areas. Our staff will be happy to tell you about the nearest smoking area.
Please inform the nursing service if you leave your room.
If you fail to comply with the smoking rules, any resulting costs may be passed on to you.
Animals
For hygiene reasons, pets are not allowed in the hospitals. This does not apply to assistance dogs.
