Complex and chronic wounds present a major challenge for primary care providers. The wide range of underlying causes, patients’ expectations of rapid treatment success, and not least the economic pressure all play a significant role. Tariffs in the healthcare system are constantly changing. In addition, treatment concepts— which must be evidence-based—are continually being further developed and updated.
Ultimately, in everyday practice, the capacity of primary care providers is often exceeded by both the treatment itself and the coordination of interdisciplinary assessments required for complex and chronic wounds.
This is where our interdisciplinary wound care clinic comes in. When needed, we analyze the problem in detail during the wound consultation and, based on this analysis, develop a treatment plan. We take care of the complex therapy and provide instructions to home care services, relatives, and the patient.
