In 1909, the “Asylum” for the sick, the elderly, and orphans was established in Cham. In the years that followed, the asylum evolved into Spital Cham and, in 1998, into AndreasKlinik Cham Zug.
“Cham has its own hospital: AndreasKlinik. We can be proud of this, because a locally based hospital is by no means a given today, but rather an important factor for the community. When the Bürgergemeinde of Cham established the ‘Asylum’ for the sick, the elderly, and orphans in 1909, it could not have foreseen how significant this milestone would become for the development of Cham and the Ennetsee region.”
Othmar Werder, President of the Bürgergemeinde of Cham, in the book From Asyl Cham to AndreasKlinik (ISBN 3-85761-296-7)
We are proud to have been contributing to the provision of healthcare in the Canton of Zug for more than 25 years and would like to sincerely thank you for the trust you have placed in us over the years. On this page, we have compiled the most important milestones in the clinic’s history along with further interesting insights. We hope you enjoy exploring.
Strategic Realignment
AndreasKlinik Cham Zug is strategically refining its service offering. A stronger focus will be placed on the musculoskeletal system, particularly orthopaedics as well as neurosurgery and spine surgery. At the same time, the clinic will continue to ensure broad regional care in gynaecology, including breast cancer medicine, urology, surgery, and general internal medicine. As of 1 July 2025, the service portfolio will be purposefully adapted with the closure of the maternity ward and the introduction of new opening hours in the emergency department.
