Part-time models & salary

With a workload of 100%, our employees work 42 hours per week (physicians 50 hours). We promote and enable part-time work wherever possible, including in management positions. We pay 13 monthly salaries, paid in two instalments in June and December. Employees who wear a uniform receive 4 additional days off as compensation for changing time.

The bonus is paid if, among other things, your name is mentioned in the application, the employment is permanent, and the probation period has been successfully completed.

Entitlement to the full bonus applies from a workload of 40% for the referred person. For a workload below 40%, half of the bonus will be paid.

  • CHF 3,000 for HF/FH/NDS professions with >40% workload
  • CHF 1,500 for HF/FH/NDS professions with <40% workload
  • CHF 750 for other professions with >40% workload
  • CHF 375 for other professions with <40% workload

 

Flexible employment contracts

At Hirslanden, you have a choice. The so-called Flex contract, for example, combines two advantages: the security of a permanent employment contract with the option of additional, flexible assignments paid on an hourly basis. Alternatively, you can choose a permanent employment contract in which your overtime is not paid out monthly with your salary.

Vacation & leisure time

Five weeks of vacation are standard with us. From the age of 60, our employees are entitled to 30 vacation days per year. With “Freizeit Plus,” you can additionally purchase up to 10 extra vacation days.

From your 5th year of service, you receive additional vacation days as a reward for your loyalty.

We also offer the option of taking unpaid leave.

As an important pillar of employee development, further education and training are actively supported. Our internal Learning Academy offers engaging courses on a wide range of topics – from self-hypnosis to team leadership. Thanks to the AMBOSS knowledge platform, you have access to in-depth expertise across all specialties at any time.

Health promotion & insurance

We offer our employees discounts on fitness memberships and massages. You also receive free admission to the Röhrliberg indoor swimming pool. Vaccinations against hepatitis B, tick-borne encephalitis, and influenza are provided free of charge. For emotional and psychological concerns, we offer free and anonymous 24/7 counseling, where external experts take care of your needs. This service is, of course, confidential.

If you receive treatment following an accident at a Hirslanden clinic, you are privately insured. In the event of illness or a non-work-related accident, you receive full salary continuation up to the 60th day of illness or accident.

The Hirslanden pension fund offers an attractive benefits plan that goes beyond the statutory minimum. Part-time employees can also benefit, as the minimum annual income threshold is not CHF 22,050 as required by law, but CHF 14,700.

 

Maternity & paternity leave

We grant a total of 16 calendar weeks of maternity leave. From the 2nd year of service, this is paid at 100% of salary. Fathers receive 2 weeks of leave with full salary continuation.

Paid changing time

Employees who are required to change completely for their work receive four additional paid days off at a 100% workload (excluding specialist and senior physicians).

For reduced workloads, the number of additional days off is adjusted accordingly.

Employees paid on an hourly basis receive an equivalent financial compensation.

During your working hours, you have access to free beverages such as tea, coffee, and mineral water. In our staff restaurant, we offer balanced meals at attractive prices. If you commute by car, we offer employee parking spaces for a fee. If you use public transport, we contribute to the cost of your annual commuter pass.
