Patients experiencing medical and surgical emergencies who do not have an appointment are cared for regardless of their insurance status, including life-threatening emergencies which, following stabilisation, are referred according to the technical facilities and the patient’s preferences.

The Swiss triage scale is applied from the time of admission of the patient by the triage and intake nurse. According to availability and the degree of medical urgency, the patient is referred accordingly.

The emergency department has full technical facilities with a POCT laboratory on site as well as direct access to the imaging partner radiology institute.

Senior doctors all have an FMH (Swiss Medical Association) specialist qualification and extensive experience in treating emergency-related conditions or traumatology and sports medicine.

As the emergency department is a recognised training centre, primary care doctors in training also form part of our team.

Patients can be called in again for an appointment to follow up on traumatology cases and are seen by our specialist doctors for follow-up care.
