The FOPH recommends that all persons with COVID-19 symptoms undergo a test. Klinik Permanence runs a COVID test centre. It is located right next to the hospital.

How can I get tested?

Opening hours

The test centre at Klinik Permanence is open daily from 13:00 - 16:00.

Registration form

Please bring the completed registration form with you or send it in advance to mpa.permanence@hirslanden.ch. This means you will spend less time at the test centre and we can treat you faster.

Registration

You can drop in for a test without an appointment. When you arrive at Klinik Permanence, please follow the path until you reach the test centre (do not enter the hospital). Patients from outside the canton can also be tested at our test centre.

Who covers the costs?

The federal government covers the costs for persons with symptoms of the disease (via health insurance, no excess, no deductible). Please refer to the FOPH page for information on typical symptoms of the disease COVID-19, symptoms and treatment, origin of new coronavirus

The federal government will cover the costs of the test for persons without symptoms of the disease if:

  • The Cantonal Medical Officer has ordered the test.
  • The person has received notification of contact with a COVID-19 case through the SwissCovid app and is asymptomatic. The test should be performed on or after the 5th day after the contact.

In all other cases, the costs have to be borne by the insured person.

What else do I need to consider?

Please make sure that you have your health insurance card ready as we need the OASI number.

Sanitise your hands before entering and leave your mask on until the healthcare professional performs the swab.

According to the FOPH guidelines, children under the age of 6 need an official prescription or a prescription for the test from the paediatrician. Without such a document, no test will be carried out or the test must be paid for the child. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

When and how will I receive my test result?

PCR test

You have undergone the corona test. You are now subject to quarantine. This rule of quarantine applies to you until you have received the test result or as ordered by the FOPH. Except when quarantine is ordered due to contact with a person who has tested positive – in this case it lasts for 10 days (even if the test result is negative). You should also not end quarantine until 24 hours after your symptoms have subsided, despite a negative result.

You will receive the test result by e-mail after approx. 2-3 days.

If your test result is positive, you must self-isolate. In this case we will contact you by telephone.

Rapid test

You have undergone the Corona rapid test.

The test result of the antigen rapid test is available within 15 minutes. We ask you not to wait on site for the test result, but to return home.

You will be sent your test result by email:

  • in the event of a positive result within 2 hours
  • in the event of a negative result by the end of working day

If the test result is positive, you will also be informed by telephone in the course of the day. In this case you must self-isolate. Please remain at home in quarantine if you have any symptoms of the disease as the result of the rapid test can be a false negative. You should repeat the PCR swab test after 2 days if your symptoms worsen or persist.

Important! In the event of a positive result (PCR test and rapid test), please inform your family doctor.
