The Hirslanden Group’s research and training department is committed to providing sustainable support for innovative, internationally recognised research, and to promoting high-quality medical training. This is a long-standing commitment that we have continuously developed and – where appropriate – expanded over the years.

The various research projects are led by our innovative doctors and staff, and focus on highly specialised medicine (HSM) and health services research. Researchers can use the services of Hirslanden Clinical Trial Unit (CTU). The CTU is part of the Quality of Life Foundation and offers efficient planning, professional implementation and optimal coordination of patient-oriented clinical studies; it also assists with the compilation of specialised medical registries. Training is provided in cooperation with the University of Zurich and the University of Lucerne, and coordinated by the HIMED association (Hirslanden Institute for Medical Education).

Klinik St. Anna in Lucerne and Klinik Hirslanden in Zurich are involved in training students. Both hospitals train medical students. Further medical training for residents studying to become specialists is offered in our hospitals.
