Chronic pain in children is managed in the pediatric center by a specialized consultation. Various treatments, including hypnosis, are offered.

Multidisciplinary care

The specialized multidisciplinary consultation for the management of chronic pain in children is intended for patients suffering from recurrent or persistent pain (3 to 6 months). Due to its persistence over time, chronic pain is likely to significantly affect behaviour and well-being. It can appear at any age, from infancy to old age and affects both men and women. Multidisciplinary management (drug, psychological, physiotherapeutic) has the advantage of uniting several specialists and allowing them to act in a concerted manner, using a rehabilitative approach. Chronic pain management is integrative medicine that may also include acupuncture, hypnosis, art therapy, and other complementary medicines. Most patients are referred by their doctor for specialist advice.

The Clinic also offers a hypnosis consultation, which is aimed at children with acute pain, chronic pain, psychosomatic disorders or childhood difficulties in general. Hypnosis is a state of altered alertness and a therapeutic process. It is a privileged mode of communication with oneself and others. It also activates the perception of sensations and the imagination of the patient.
