The FOPH recommends that all persons with COVID-19 symptoms should be tested. At the AndreasKlinik Cham Zug, both the regular PCR test and the so-called antigen rapid tests are possible. The specialist staff at the test centre decide which test to use. Both tests are only carried out by appointment.

How can I get tested?

How can I get tested?

We want to offer you the best possible care and short waiting times. For this reason, we only carry out corona smears after making an appointment in advance. The appointment includes a short evaluation and the smear test.

This procedure applies to both the regular PCR test and the so-called antigen rapid test. Whether an antigen rapid test is suitable for the person to be tested is decided by the specialised staff of the test centre. The PCR test can be performed on request.

How to register for an appointment:

  1. Open the registration form (only in German available). Fill it out completely and send it to us by e-mail by clicking on the "Send" button in the form. If the "Send" button does not work in your browser, save the form on your computer and send it in a separate e-mail directly to us.
  2. Book your desired appointment via our online appointment system below.

Who covers the costs?

Who covers the costs?

For persons with symptoms of illness, the costs are covered by the federal government (via health insurance, no deductible, no franchise). The typical symptoms of the disease can be found on the FOPH's page Disease COVID-19, Symptoms and Treatment, Origin new coronavirus

For persons without disease symptoms, the federal government will cover the cost of the test if:

  • the cantonal doctor has ordered the test.
  • the person has received a notification of contact with a COVID-19 case through the SwissCovid App and is asymptomatic. The test should be performed from the 5th day after the contact.

In all other cases the costs of CHF 133.50 have to be paid by the person himself (payment on site, cash or with EC/credit card).

When will I receive my test result?

When will I receive my test result?

PCR test

In most cases, the test result is available within 24 to 48 hours. Due to the increased demand in the external laboratory it can take up to 72 hours. Please leave a telephone number where we can reach you within the next 24-72 hours.

You will receive your test result from the laboratory by e-mail or SMS. If you do not have an e-mail address, the test result will be sent to you by A-post. If the test result is positive, you will also be informed by telephone by one of our employees. Please leave a number where you can be reached during the next 24 to 72 hours.

Please remain in quarantine at home in case of symptoms of illness until your negative test result is available. Even if the test is negative, you can only end the quarantine 24 hours after the symptoms have subsided.

Antigen Test

The test result of the rapid antigen test is available within 15 minutes. We kindly ask you not to wait for the test result on site but to go home. You will receive your test result from the laboratory by e-mail or SMS:

  • if the result is positive within 2 hours
  • if the result is negative within the working day

A quick test is only performed if you enter an e-mail address or mobile phone number. If the test result is positive, you will also be informed by telephone during the day by one of our employees.
Please remain in quarantine at home if you have symptoms of illness. As the rapid test can also produce false negative results, you should repeat the test after 2 days if symptoms worsen or if symptoms persist. Even if the test is negative, you can only end quarantine 24 hours after the symptoms have subsided.
