In the event of an accident, surgery performed in a short time allows a better recovery of the strength and mobility of the hand or wrist, significantly shortening its healing time. With this in mind, the surgeons installed in the clinic have developed a collaboration with the Emergency Department, in order to treat patients who have suffered a trauma to the wrist or hand as quickly as possible. Thus, fractures, wounds (often causing damage to tendons, nerves and arteries), animal bites are taken care of by the Emergency Department which will always have an accessible specialist.
All other surgical treatments of the hand such as carpal tunnel syndrome (compression of the median nerve at the wrist causing a loss of hand sensitivity), retraction or deformation of the fingers by osteoarthritis or Dupuytren's disease, spring finger phenomena, tendonitis and ligament instabilities are also supported by these specialists, at their consulting room in the Clinic.
