Mehdi Bensouda will take over the management of the two Hirslanden hospitals in Lausanne – Bois-Cerf and Cecil – as of 1 October 2025. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in both the hospital sector and the field of medical technology.

From 2020 to 2024, Mehdi Bensouda was Chief Development Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Hôpital de La Tour in Geneva, where he set up specialist centres and promoted interdisciplinary collaboration. From 2009 to 2019, he held various leadership positions at global medical technology company Medtronic, where he established strategic partnerships with major European hospitals. Since 2025, he has been supporting fledgling companies in the Lake Geneva region to help them develop their strategy and growth plan.

Mehdi Bensouda has a Master’s in Strategy, Planning and Control from Paris Dauphine University and an Executive MBA from the IMD Business School in Lausanne. He has also completed various training courses, particularly on the topic of value-based health care at Harvard Business School. Driven by his passion for innovation and sustainability, he is committed to ensuring the further development of the healthcare system – with a clear focus on patient benefits and targeted team support.

‘We are delighted that Mehdi Bensouda will be joining Hirslanden,’ says Daniel Liedtke, Chief Executive Officer of the Hirslanden Group. ‘His qualifications and experience in hospital management and healthcare make him the ideal person to develop integrated care in the private healthcare sector in the region.’

Mehdi Bensouda adds: ‘I am looking forward to being part of the Hirslanden Group and working with the teams at the Bois-Cerf and Cecil hospitals, both of which are well-known in the region for their respective medical specialties, to tackle these significant challenges while developing new innovative strategies in close collaboration with the medical profession.’
