The Medical Examiner of Divers (SUHMS) specialty covers the medical assessment of fitness to dive as well as the care of divers. The aim is to identify health risks at an early stage and ensure safety during diving activities.

The Medical Examiner of Divers (SUHMS) specialty focuses on the comprehensive medical examination, counselling and follow-up of individuals who engage in recreational or professional diving. The assessment of fitness to dive is based on internationally recognised guidelines and takes into account both individual health conditions and the specific physiological demands of diving under increased ambient pressure.

During the diving medical examination, particular attention is given to the cardiovascular system, lung function, ENT region, as well as neurological and general health aspects. The objective is to identify and minimise potential risks such as decompression sickness, barotrauma or other diving-related complications at an early stage.

Our specialised physicians have extensive expertise in diving medicine and work in accordance with the standards of the Swiss Underwater and Hyperbaric Medical Society (SUHMS). In addition to issuing fitness-to-dive certificates, services also include individual counselling on prevention, training and behaviour under water. Through thorough assessment and continuous medical support, safe and responsible diving is promoted.
