Our accident and emergency department treats all conditions relating to internal medicine (including the relevant sub-specialities) and surgery/traumatology.

An experienced team of medical specialists and specialist nursing staff ensures competent and personalised emergency care. Working closely with the more than 300 accredited specialists at Klinik Im Park, we are committed to providing rapid and efficient treatment. We place great importance on collaboration with GPs to ensure seamless and high-quality follow-up care.

Our modern facilities provide the ideal conditions for targeted emergency treatment: seven individual treatment stations, a fully equipped trauma room and our own endoscopy suite. Thanks to direct access to a CT scanner and two MRI machines, as well as comprehensive emergency diagnostics, investigations can be carried out immediately on site.

The separate entrance ensures quick and easy access for patients and emergency services.

An emergency – what should you do?

In life-threatening emergencies, please dial the official emergency number 144 at any time.

In an emergency, your GP’s surgery is your first point of contact. They are familiar with your medical history and can assess whether and how urgently you require further examination or treatment at a hospital. They will discuss the next steps with you.

If your GP’s practice cannot be reached in an emergency, the accident and emergency department at Hirslanden Klinik Im Park in Zurich is always available: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Important information

Our outpatient emergency care is available to patients with all types of health insurance. Should further inpatient treatment be required, we offer patients with supplementary insurance or those paying privately the option of admission to the Klinik Im Park.

Patients with severe burns, multiple trauma, traumatic brain injury, eye injuries and/or children under the age of 16 should contact a specialist clinic.

Triage

There may be waiting times.
In the accident and emergency department, patients are treated not on a first-come, first-served basis, but according to the urgency of their condition. Our specialists first assess the situation (triage) and prioritise care based on the severity of the condition. This means that there may be waiting times for less urgent cases – to protect patients with acute, life-threatening conditions.
