Patient Rights Brochure

The patient has the right to be informed in a clear and appropriate manner about his state of health, about possible examinations and treatments, about the possible consequences and risks involved, about the prognosis and about the financial aspects of the treatment. Upon admission to a care institution, the patient receives, in principle, written information about his rights and duties and the conditions of his stay.

Hair prosthetists

It is best that you contact as soon as possible, before hair loss to achieve your hairstyle model as accurately as possible. The fall occurs 12 to 15 days after the start of treatments. Regrowth occurs 6 to 8 weeks after the end of treatments.

Reimbursement by disability insurance for active people, max 1500 CHF / year for a wig, reimbursement can also relate to another method of hair replacement or certain head covers. At retirement age, if you receive a pension, the AHV covers 75% of the net price of a wig, max CHF 1000/year.

You will find several information about the bras that you can wear following breast cancer.

  • The post-operative bra is not reimbursed by insurance.
  • In case of mastectomy without reconstruction, a reimbursement of 100 CHF / year is in principle provided for bra or for participation on the purchase of a swimsuit.
  • For an external silicone prosthesis: CHF 400 per year per side, for an active person, reimbursement by the AI.
  • After the age of 64, private health insurance reimburses CHF 90 / year for the bra and CHF 360 per year per side for an external prosthesis.
