The Dianecho centre for pre-natal ultrasound is located in the centre of Carouge and at the Clinique des Grangettes. It examines over half the women in Geneva.
The Dianecho centre was launched in 2000. It performs morphological ultrasound examinations that are a part of each pregnancy. This examination is carried out in the twentieth week of pregnancy by specialists in foetal-maternal medicine. It allows analysis of the foetus’s development in the mother’s womb and can detect possible pathologies. It also lets future parents see their child for the first time. Anomalies are rare, but an early diagnosis does permit parents and doctors to prepare for any extra care that may be needed at birth.
