Radiotherapy is a medical procedure that is crucial for the majority of patients suffering from cancer. The radiotherapy unit at the Clinique des Grangettes offers a peaceful atmosphere and attentive staff.
State-of-the-art radiology equipment
Treating cancer with radiation requires the involvement of a number of different professionals: radiation-oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, medical radiation technicians, nurses and secretaries. The radiation-oncology centre at the Clinique features all the machines needed for modern radio-therapy: a CT simulator, volumetric dosimetry systems, image transfer and information management systems and a linear accelerator, the RapidArc®. The latter features IMRT (intensity-modulated radiation therapy) and IGRT (image-guided radiation therapy). These technologies deliver highly targeted treatment, in particular arc therapy (rotational irradiation). Another modern technique also applied at the unit is respiratory gating, irradiation adapted to breathing cycles.
