The Hirslanden Private Hospital Group is consistently developing the range of medical services it offers in the east of Switzerland. The Hirslanden Klinik Am Rosenberg in Heiden has achieved a turnaround. The Hirslanden Klinik Stephanshorn in St. Gallen is being extended to be an inpatient and outpatient campus. The two hospitals are being placed under joint management. In this way, the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group offers the population of eastern Switzerland even more comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical care.

The unified management of the two hospitals will strengthen the coordinated expansion of the Hirslanden care region in eastern Switzerland. Andrea Rütsche, Hospital Manager of Klinik Stephanshorn, will head both hospitals from 1st November 2019. Dr. Sacha Geier, Hospital Manager of the Hirslanden Klinik Am Rosenberg, will move to the Klinik Hirslanden in Zurich on 1st November 2019, where she will take over medical management. Mägi Frei, who is currently responsible for care, hotel & services at the Klinik Am Rosenberg, will take over location management of the Klinik Am Rosenberg from 1st November 2019, and report directly to Andrea Rütsche.

“After the successful turnaround of the Klinik Am Rosenberg under the leadership of Dr Sacha Geier and her team, the ideal time has now arrived to place the two Hirslanden hospitals in the east of Switzerland under joint management”, says Dr Stephan Pahls, Chief Operating Officer East of the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group. Andrea Rütsche adds: “Patients in eastern Switzerland can now benefit from a comprehensive, integrated care network, covering outpatient and inpatient treatment, basic services and treatment in specialised areas. Our patients and doctors will gain from further strengthened inter-disciplinary cooperation.”

The Hirslanden care region in the east of Switzerland already includes the Ärztehaus Schuppis in St. Gallen, in the immediate vicinity of the Klinik Stephanshorn. An outpatient surgery centre will be added to this facility in spring 2020, to keep in step with the trend towards outpatient instead of inpatient treatment, and with medical development. The next step in expansion in St. Gallen will be the opening of an outpatient radiotherapy facility for cancer patients, and further medical centres in Neudorf-Center in 2021. This means that a medical campus is growing around the Klinik Stephanshorn, offering a wide range of outpatient and inpatient services, within a short distance of patients. As ever, Hirslanden also has the option of possible cooperation with other service providers
